AXA close Bristol and Redhill branches

AXA Insurance today announced the closure of its Commercial Lines branches in Bristol and Redhill today, impacting around 50 staff across the two sites. Whilst there will be a number of redeployment opportunities at other locations, as well as some local jobs created, it is almost inevitable that there will some compulsory redundancies. Ê

Unite have been fully consulted by AXA over its developing commercial business strategy and whilst disappointed at the impact on staff, recognise the need for the business to evolve in a changing market. Ê

Whilst these two site closures are the latest in a number of similar announcements over the last few years in the Commercial Lines operation, as the business has centralised, AXA have advised Unite that these closures mark the end of the current reorganisation programme and that they have no further plans for reducing the numbers of Commercial Lines offices at this time.
