Indian union reps visit AXA UK

Union reps, including general Secretary KarthikShekhar, from Indian trade union Unites recently visited the AXA offices in Ipswich and London as part of a visit to the UK.

The reps were able to meet AXA UK HR Director Sonia Wolsey-Cooper and AXA UK ER Director Nigel Brown and discuss many issues of mutual interest including the problems of high attrition in Indian outsource operations such as AXA Business Services.

In Ipswich the Unites delegation met local managers who deal with AXA BS in India, local union reps and staff. Many topics were covered in these meetings including details of the shocking exploitation of female staff who in some offshored operations have to resort to giving sexual favours to gain promotion.
