Closure of Two AXA Life Sales Branches Announced
AXA Life has today announced the closure of its offices in Reading and
Watford.
There has been consultation with Unite about this decision. Rather than
the closures being purely driven by cost cutting, this move is intended
to allow the setting up of a new servicing & support model into AXA
Wealth Management located at Basingstoke. Initial feedback indicates
that the impacted branch employees accept the logic behind this plan to
improve customer service.
Some employees will move to home working and some will relocate to
Basingstoke. Unfortunately there is the probability of some
redundancies for the sales support employees located at Watford due to
the distance from there to Basingstoke.
We have been informed that there are no further lease breaks due in
2008 for AXA Life branches, so it is highly unlikely that any further
branch closures will be considered during 2008.
The company has advised us that these closures will not affect the AXA
Insurance employees located at Reading and Watford at this time.
