Amicus challenge potential commercial branch headcount reduction

The union have challenged the potential reduction in commercial branch headcount of 15 - 20% that might arise out of the ABS-Branch Process Review. The processes identified for possible transfer to India largely comprises of work that should have been undertaken by brokers following the introduction of the AXA Business Risk system.

AXA had previously advised Amicus that the branch heacount was calculated on the basis of this work being done by brokers following the introduction of ABR.

Consequently we will be robustly challenging the validity of the figure quoted by management in the presentation on the review in our consultations with them.

We will also be reminding them of their obligations concerning potential headcount impact arising out of the transfer of work to India and the principles document signed at UK Group level concerning this issue.
