Redundancy terms confusion for branch employees

Some union members based in the AXA Life branches due to close this year have approached Unite with concerns about their notice periods and redundancy payments. Unite have pursued this with AXA and are disappointed to learn that at this particularly sensitive time some mixed messages have evidently gone out to employees that are already having to deal with the likelihood of losing their job.

Employees must be treated in a fair and transparent manner and notice periods and redundancy payments must meet the terms the union has previously negotiated with AXA. We understand that a company statement has now been issued to the impacted employees apologising for the confusion and clarifying that all notice periods and redundancy payments will take place in line with existing AXA policy.
